What "texts for adults" means on Chitacle

In our approach "adult" refers to the addressee, not the content. Chitacle's texts are written for the settled adult: for someone who has already been through the "first time" stage, knows themselves in relationships, has a history and losses lived through, and is now interested not in plot intrigue but in the character's inner movement.

Inside the text — no erotica and no "adult content" in the physical sense. The themes are psychological: how mature passion sounds, what a person feels who has realized they've fallen out of love, what two people talk about after a long separation.

What themes are in the repertoire

• Relationships of mature people. New encounters later in life, the ongoing life of a couple, mindful parting.
• Crises. Personal, in a couple, age-related — the points where the familiar no longer works.
• Passion and its price. Not as a plot, but as an inner tension.
• Parting. With a person, with a stage of life, with your former self.
• Reuniting after a long break. With a former partner, a friend from youth, with yourself.
• Anxiety and hope. Themes rarely spoken aloud over dinner but running as background.
• A conflict of values. When people who love each other stand on different foundations.

Two text formats

• Duologues. Plays for two performers who carry the whole plot together. Cast configurations — two male roles, two female roles, or mixed. Length 35–45 minutes.
• Monoplays — not one-man shows. Short original plays for a single performer, 20–25 minutes. Used in Read-to-me mode: one reads aloud, the other listens. This is a literary form for chamber, personal contact.

Play genres: drama, comedy, tragicomedy, melodrama, romantic comedy, dark comedy, lyrical drama, thriller, science fiction, farce, theatre of the absurd, miniature…

How to get a text

On Chitacle there's no open catalogue with play titles — that is a deliberate choice. The main value isn't in the files themselves but in what happens between two people while they read.

Two ways to get a text:

• Read it live. Register, enter the theater — the system will pick a play for the pair itself. Every meeting is a discovery.
• Get a file by email. After a meeting (or instead of one, if you're a specialist and want to preview the material) — write to chitacle.online@gmail.com. A selection tailored to a specific task (loneliness, pair work, loss, empathy) will be sent to you as a file.

Authorship and licence

All 200+ plays are written within the Chitacle project. Authorship belongs to the project — that's the pseudonym of the founder, a professional playwright. This is contemporary original drama, not classics and not translations.

AI is used only as a localization assistant for other languages — never as a co-author. Creative initiative always belongs to the human author.

Licence — Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0). The texts can be used in dramatherapy, in acting lessons, in amateur productions, in RFL classes — the only requirement is to credit the author: Chitacle.
