Loneliness of an adult person has ceased to be a personal drama and become the norm. Sociologists of all countries speak of one thing: adults increasingly have nobody to talk to for real. Chitacle offers a gentle way out — a literary encounter through a play.
Why specifically adult loneliness
In school and university friendship arises on its own — shared circle, shared tasks. After 25 the circle narrows: families, work, children. Friends leave, friendships become rare calls. By forty many wake up with the same question: "And whom, actually, am I talking with?"
This isn't about the absence of people around. It's about the absence of a living dialogue. There are hundreds of contacts — nobody to talk with.
Where the epidemic came from
- Work has become remote. Smoke break, lunch, coffee machine — no longer a place of meeting.
- Neighbors have stopped being people. The entrance is an elevator and a vestibule, not a courtyard.
- Childhood friends have scattered across countries.
- "Places of communication" have turned into thematic clubs — everywhere you have to play the role of participant.
- Dating apps have created the illusion of choice and simultaneously — deep loneliness among hundreds of faces.
What's hard about this
Not the very fact that you're alone. What makes adult loneliness hard is something else:
- Fear of the first word. The longer without close communication — the scarier to start.
- Self-consciousness. The certainty that "all normal people are already with someone."
- The sense that any attempt decides everything. And therefore — freezing.
What Chitacle offers
Chitacle is a new form of meeting people. Literary encounters for thoughtful adults. Here there's no feed and no profiles. Here two people meet on the stage of the online theater and read a play by roles. This is a unified form that eases first contact: the first words are already written, nobody has to "entertain" anyone.
The main thing in exiting loneliness isn't the number of meetings. The main thing — the exchange of human energies. One real conversation outweighs a hundred correspondences.
