All Chitacle plays are published under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license — the most permissive of the licenses that require attribution. This means: you can stage, read, adapt, use commercially — with one condition: mention the author (Chitacle).
What Creative Commons is
Creative Commons is an international system of licenses that allows authors to share their works under clear conditions. This isn't "renouncing authorship" — it's publication under clear rules: what's allowed, what isn't.
CC BY 4.0 is the most permissive of the CC licenses. It allows practically everything, except one thing: using someone else's work without attribution to the author.
What CC BY 4.0 allows
- Share copy and distribute the text in any formats.
- Adapt change, cut, rework.
- Use for any purposes including commercial.
- Create derivative works films, audiobooks, performances.
- Distribute adaptations under any licenses.
What CC BY 4.0 requires
One condition: attribute the author. For all Chitacle plays the author is Chitacle. One line in the program, in the credits, in the imprint is enough:

That's enough.
What's not allowed
- Pass someone else's text off as your own. This is a violation both moral and legal.
- Remove the original attribution when republishing.
- Claim that the author supports your adaptation if they didn't.
Why Chitacle chose CC BY 4.0
- So that the plays are actually used. Any restricting license reduces reach.
- To support amateur theater and teaching. This requires freedom.
- To broaden the culture of partner reading. The more people read plays — the better.
- So that the author remains visible. CC BY guarantees attribution.

How do I get the play text as a file?
Write to chitacle.online@gmail.com with the play's title — we'll send you the file. You learn the title during your meeting in the theater.
On what terms can I use Chitacle plays?
All plays are freely distributed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0), perpetually and worldwide, with no rights claims. The only requirement — attribution to the author (Chitacle) and links to our resources.
Can I invite viewers to the meeting?
Yes, in all formats except instant matching. The viewer joins via a personal link. The same works for online supervision: a teacher, psychologist, or coach joins the student's or client's session as a viewer.
What languages does the interface support?
The Chitacle interface is in five languages: Русский · English · Español · العربية · 中文. The play repertoire is being translated and continues to grow.
How much does it cost?
Your first meeting is on us. After that — by individual meetings or a monthly subscription.
