Simple instructions
1. Learn the play's title. For example, after a meeting on Chitacle — the title will appear in the Dressing Room. 2. Write to chitacle.online@gmail.com a short letter: "Please send the text of the play [title]." 3. In response you'll get a file with the full text — usually within a few hours.
No forms, no registrations, no restrictions on the number of requests.
If you don't know the title
You can describe what you want:
- Genre (comedy, drama, psychological, melodrama).
- Number of roles (one, two).
- Gender combination (F/F, M/M, M/F, monoplay for a woman/man).
- Runtime (short up to 30 minutes, medium up to 45 minutes).
- Purpose (staging, reading, teaching, literary encounter).
We'll pick several options and send them as a selection.
Why there's no public catalog on the site
This is part of the Chitacle format. If all 200+ plays were placed in open access — every meeting would turn into "guess what will come up for me." But the point of the format is in cold reading: you see the play for the first time, together with the partner.
Requests for play texts separately — for those who want to stage, study, reread. That's a different motivation, and it's also supported, without a public catalog.
What's allowed with the text received
- Read for yourself.
- Stage on any stage.
- Adapt change, cut, rewrite.
- Use in teaching in studios, schools, on courses.
- Use commercially with attribution to the author (Chitacle).
CC BY 4.0 license — the most permissive.
What's NOT allowed
- Pass off as your own text attribution is required.
- Change without noting that the text is adapted that's part of honesty.
