What Chitacle online is

Chitacle is an online theater for two. The word "online" here isn't a marketing add-on but the very essence of the project: Chitacle exists only in the online format; there's no physical stage here.

Two people, strangers or acquaintances, meet on the stage of the online theater, read one of the 200+ original plays by roles — and unexpectedly for themselves start talking. That conversation which wouldn't have happened in any chat or on any service.

The first words are already written. They belong not to you, but to the play's characters. This removes the fear of the first line and gives you the right to be yourself — no need to "impress," to "keep the conversation going," to "tell me about yourself." Just read. And look each other in the eye.

How to open Chitacle online — step by step

• Step 1. Go to play-read.online — that is Chitacle online. No apps to install.
• Step 2. On the homepage press "Enter the theater" and leave your email — a ticket with a link will arrive in your inbox.
• Step 3. The link opens the Dressing Room — the space where you choose a meeting mode and parameters.
• Step 4. Choose one of the four modes and fill in a short card (sex, age, desired role).
• Step 5. At the appointed time the curtain parts. In front of you — a live partner on video call and the shared text of the play. No preparation.

Four modes of Chitacle online

• "Read now." Instant partner search by the given parameters. The meeting starts as soon as a compatible person is found.
• "Schedule a meeting." You choose the day and hour, the system finds a partner in advance and sends three theatrical bells before the meeting.
• "Read to me." A chamber monoplay mode: one listens, the other reads aloud. Partner of the opposite sex.
• "Read with a friend." A private reading via invitation link. You invite a specific person; optionally — a viewer.

What you need to take part

• A modern browser. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge — all work.
• Camera and microphone. Built into a laptop, phone, or tablet — doesn't matter.
• A stable internet connection. Home Wi-Fi or mobile 4G/5G is enough.
• Email. The ticket to the theater arrives in your inbox as a link.

No apps and no third-party registrations. Chitacle online works right in the browser.

Why Chitacle exists only online

The project's idea is inherently tied to the online format: two strangers in different cities or countries, to whom the algorithm assigns a compatible play, meet in a video window and read together. No travel, no public stage, no acting preparation.

If such a meeting were offline — it would turn into an ordinary theatrical reading with an audience and evaluation. The online format preserves intimacy: only the two of you and the play. That is Chitacle online.
