Chitacle for the Shy: A Guide for Those Afraid to Start a Conversation First

Read plays online with a partner — in 5 languages: Русский · English · Español · العربية · 中文.

Chitacle for the shy — a format in which you don't need to "start first." All three types of shyness — I'm shy about the first line, I'm shy about my appearance, I'm shy about talking about myself — are removed by one move: the play takes it all on itself.

Three types of shyness

Chitacle removes all three at once.

How "I'm afraid of the first line" is removed

The first line isn't yours. It was said by the author of the play. You simply voice the written text. Not "choosing words," not "thinking how it sounds" — reading the ready-made.

In two or three lines the voice warms up, breathing evens out, and you're already talking — but without a moment of "now I'll say the first phrase."

How "I'm shy about my appearance" is removed

On Chitacle nobody judges "by photos." There's no profile. No feed. The partner didn't come for appearance — they came to read a play. That's a different motivation than in dating.

In ten minutes of reading, attention goes into the text. Nobody's examining your clothes or hair — everyone's listening to the play.

How "I don't know how to talk about myself" is removed

On Chitacle you don't need to talk about yourself. The topic is the play. After reading, the conversation itself moves into the personal — but through the text, not through a profile. This is a natural path into personal topics.

If the partner asks "who are you," you'll tell them. But it will be an answer to a specific question — not self-presentation.

What's special about this

Shyness isn't a "weakness" or a "defect." It's the result of the absence of a suitable format. Chitacle provides a suitable format — and shyness, it turns out, doesn't get in the way.
